My Story

I didn't want a bigger business. I wanted my life back.

The short version: I built a business that needed me for everything, called it freedom, and discovered it wasn't. What I did next became the method — and the company — I now bring to other founders.

Where it started

The business that owned me

Like most founders, I was the engine of everything I built. Every sale, every fire, every decision, every late night — it all ran through me. From the outside it looked like success. From the inside it was a job I could never resign from.

The breaking point wasn't a crisis. It was the quiet realisation that the thing I built to give me freedom had become the thing that took it.

What changed

I learned to build differently.

First I had to become the person who could let go — the operator, not the martyr. That inner work turned out to be the foundation everything else stood on. Then I turned how I worked into systems a business could run on. And then, only then, I automated the rest.

That sequence — Be, Build, Automate — became my method. It's the reason I could grow without burning down, and it's the method now running live inside businesses across accounting, agriculture, manufacturing and retail through FreedomHub, the company I founded to build these systems for others.

Freedom isn't the absence of work. It's a business built so well that your presence becomes a choice.

Today I live and work in George, on South Africa's Garden Route — coaching founders, building systems, and proving every day that a business can grow and give you your life back. That's the whole point.
